See sunrise at the House of the Sun, then ride the legendary "Fabulous 29" switchbacks back down at your own pace.
A comfortable van carries you up Haleakalā in the dark for sunrise over the summit basin. After first light, the descent is yours to set — stop for photos, roll through upcountry pasture and eucalyptus forest, and finish with the whole island laid out below you.
Everything you need is provided — KONA® downhill mountain bikes with hydraulic disc brakes, Bell® helmets, Helly Hansen® rain gear, DAKINE® packs, plus a map and directions. National Park admission is included, and non-riders can join the extended vehicle tour.
Riders must be 15 or older, over 4'10", under 300 lbs, have recent riding experience and wear closed-toe shoes. Groups larger than six must book a guided tour. Check-in times shift with the season and summit temperatures are near freezing — dress warmly.
