Bike Maui's guided Haleakalā tours pair the thrill of riding down the legendary "Fabulous 29" switchbacks with a fully narrated tour of Haleakalā National Park and Maui's upcountry. Your guide rides with the group the whole way, setting the pace and handling the logistics, so you can concentrate on the view: the summit basin at nearly 10,000 feet, the ranchlands of Kula and Makawao, and the long descent through eucalyptus groves and pasture toward the coast. Everything you need to ride is provided — KONA® downhill mountain bikes with hydraulic disc brakes, Bell® helmets, Helly Hansen® rain gear and DAKINE® packs. National Park admission is included, and guests who prefer not to ride can join the extended vehicle tour instead. Riders must be 15 or older, over 4'10", under 300 lbs, have recent riding experience and wear closed-toe shoes. Dress in layers — the summit is cold. This is the drive-in option: you meet the team at Bike Maui's office at 8:00 AM. Resort pickup is not included.
