As locals and native Hawaiians, the owner's of Hawaiian Style Tours & Transportation know that there's more about the famous Road to Hana than its lush tropical beauty. As they take you through the 600+ curves and 50+ one lane bridges you'll learn about the history, the stories, and tales of this tropical rainforest that was once traveled by their ancestors. Sit back and relax in luxury as they do the driving so that everyone in your group can enjoy the views.
Your day will start with a certified local guide picking you up at your hotel in the air condition comfort of a luxurious Cadillac Escalade or Custom Platinum Minibus. Each vehicle is equipped with high back leather seats, three point safety seat belts and USB charging stations in every row so you can be sure your smartphone is charged throughout your all-day adventure.
Arriving in Kahului, you'll do a quick stop for coffee to enjoy with your continental breakfast of tropical fruit bread slices (guava, mango or passion fruit) and Maui Gold pineapple skewers. Weather permitting, your journey will start with a trip through "Upcountry Maui"and cruise through the southern base of Mount Haleakala as you enjoy the views of South Maui, Molokini and Kahoolawe. As you make your way to Hana you'll see the rocky coastline of Maui's last volcanic lava flow and hear the history of areas as far as your eyes can see. Once in Hana, you'll have a hot fresh lunch at the Hana Ranch Restaurant and see some of Hana's points of interest like Hana Bay, Hamoa & Koki Beach, Haneo'o Fishpond and Alau Island.
After Hana, you’ll start to travel through the deep foliage, valleys and beauty endearingly called the “Heavenly Road to Hana.” Bamboo forests, l ush ferns and various types of plants line the valley walls as you make your way to each of the 50+ one l ane bridges with flowing waterfalls, streams and fresh water ponds. Your guide will stop along the way so you can take pictures, breathe i n the fresh air and maybe even swim under a waterfall as l ong as weather permits. Throughout your tour, your knowledgeable certified local guide will share the stories, history and facts of the Road to Hana which was named as a Millennium Legacy Trail by President Clinton i n the year 2000 and registered on the l ist of National Historic Places i n 2001.
